Overview

Order Management System Lead Developer – Carter's. Remote in Atlanta, GA, United States. Bachelor Degree or equivalent education is preferred. This role is within the Logistics sector and focuses on the business-critical Order Management platform within the Retail Technology organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of solutions on the IBM Sterling OMS platform.
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing/scheduling, fulfilment types (STH, BOPIS, BOSS), payment processing, OMS APIs, agents, and services.
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs under the direction of the Solution Architect or OMS Manager.
  • Configure and develop technical solutions and coordinate Integrated Testing.
  • Collaborate with internal IT resources and business stakeholders to execute initiatives; participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute new ideas.
  • Provide tier-3 production support for OMS issues, with timely resolution; participate in on-call input for production issues when required.
  • Mentor and upskill developers; promote best practices, code reviews, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Capture functional requirements with business users, analysts, and technical teams, and translate into technical specifications and implementations.
Qualifications
  • Must have: 6+ years of Sterling Commerce OMS experience (cloud experience preferred); strong design, development, and implementation capabilities on IBM Sterling OMS.
  • Proven ability to manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing/scheduling, multiple fulfilment types, payment processing, OMS APIs, agents, and services.
  • Strong Java, XML, XSL, and SQL querying skills.
  • Experience providing tier-3 production support for OMS; ability to lead troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Mentor teams, perform code reviews, and foster continuous learning.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Experience with integrated testing and UAT management.
  • Educational background: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Preferred skills and experience: Experience with other IBM Sterling products (e.g., Call Center), familiarity with Agile, knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, and understanding of retail/supply chain delivery methodologies.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; self-motivated and able to work independently.

  • At least 6-7 years of experience in developing Order Management and/or Retail/Supply Chain solutions.
  • Extensive experience with database systems and SQL.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
