Order Fulfillment Technicians

Overview

Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the Order Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician is responsible for receiving and filling prescription requests for patients and completing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Initial training will be 2 weeks, working 9 am - 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure pharmaceutical processes and systems follow policies, procedures, company standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, peers, and employees at all levels, maintaining clear communication throughout issue resolution.
  • Adhere to professional practice standards, statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Receive, verify, and process written prescription or refill requests.
  • Maintain proper storage and security for all medications.
  • Fill prescriptions, affix labels, and ensure accuracy.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas, including sterilization as needed.
  • Manage inventory: order, label, count stock medications, chemicals, and supplies, and record data.
  • Receive and store supplies, verify quantities, and report shortages.
  • Willingness to work in a USP 797/800 clean room environment as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification issued by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy, with at least 1 year of experience. PTCB certification and USP 797/800 experience are a plus.
  • Willingness to be trained and work in a USP 797/800 clean room environment.
  • Complete sufficient CEUs to maintain technician certification.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, emotional maturity, integrity, and promote a positive work environment.
  • Report critical information to management that may impact client/vendor relations or patient care.
  • Willing to perform departmental duties in other areas as needed.
  • Willing to complete special projects and work scheduled hours, including mandatory overtime during peak times.
