Job summary

Job Summary

Identifies each day’s shipments and ensures orders are correctly chosen, packaged, and labeled, and that appropriate graphics are completed accurately. Responsible for meeting daily shipping schedules, maintaining inventory control/records, and notifying the Shipping Supervisor of problems.

• Secure contents to prevent damage/breakage
• Affix shipping labels and special handling instructions clearly and orderly
• Read and understand job traveler; verify graphics per customer order
• Learn to operate FedEx and UPS shipping systems
• Use proper lifting techniques; get help for heavy weights; avoid awkward positions
• Work in stocking-program side of shipping (shelving and releasing part numbers)
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Keep work areas clear of clutter and equipment
• Assist with year-end and general inventory procedures as needed
• Report defective graphics or shortages to Shipping Supervisor

Expected Hours of Work
