Job summary

Ichor Systems, Inc. is seeking temporary Orbital Welders on the swing shift to support production in a state-of-the-art Class 100 clean room facility in Fremont, CA.

This temp-to-hire role offers a 2:30pm–11:00pm shift with a 10% shift differential and opportunities to develop specialized welding skills in a high-tech manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include set-up, TIG orbital welds, material prep, blueprint reading, quality inspections, and collaborating with engineering and quality

Qualifications

• Experience in high-purity clean room environments.
• 2-year welding tech program or equivalent.
• 3+ years TIG welding stainless steel or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate orbital welding machines per specs.
• Perform TIG orbital welds on stainless steel and high-purity materials.
• Prepare materials: cut, fit, clean, align.
• Read blueprints, weld maps, and work instructions.
• Verify weld quality via visual inspection and tools.
• Maintain production and quality records; troubleshoot equipment.

Ichor Systems, Inc. is seeking temporary Orbital Welders on the swing shift to support production operations in our state-of-the-art Class 100 clean room facility. Temporary Assignment:Temp-to-Hire opportunity with potential for permanent employment based on performance, attendance, and business needs.

Swing Shift- Monday through Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Shift Differential – 10%

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate orbital welding machines according to engineering specifications and welding procedures.
• Perform TIG orbital welds on stainless steel and other high purity materials.
• Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, fitting, cleaning, and alignment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld maps, and work instructions.
• Verify weld quality through visual inspections and measurement tools.
• Perform leak testing, borescope inspections, and other quality checks as required.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Troubleshoot welding equipment and make parameter adjustments when necessary.
• Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards.
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve production issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic PC skills for manufacturing.
• Experience working in high-purity clean room environment.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Ability to handle fragile products, perform repetitive tasks and demonstrate safety awareness.
• Proficiently use all approved hand gauges to inspect component quality at the work center.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings, correspondence, and documents.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with supervisors, leads, and peers.
• Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practices.
• Basic understanding of related mechanics, flow control elements and MRP concepts. 3-4+ years manufacturing or related work experience - semiconductor industry preferred.
• Commitment to quality, customer focused mindset both internally and externally.
• Successful completion of a 2-year professional trade program in Welding Technology or equivalent- or currently enrolled in such a program
• Basic math, blueprint reading and weld to print skills.
• 3+ years work experience performing Tig welding of stainless steel or less experience with a Welding technology degree (or currently enrolled in Welding Technology Degree program).

Preferred Qualifications

• Orbital welding certification or documented experience.
• Semiconductor, aerospace, pharmaceutical, or cleanroom manufacturing experience.
• Experience with automated welding systems such as AMI, Arc Machines, or Swagelok equipment.
• Knowledge of purge systems, gas delivery systems, and high-purity process piping.

For candidates in CA: The pay range for this position is $24.09 - $40.96 per hour, non-exempt. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
