Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Orbital Tube Welding for the Orbital Tube Welder role.
  • 5+ years of experience in Orbital Tube Welding for the Senior Orbital Tube Welder role.

ORBITAL TUBE WELDER / SENIOR ORBITAL TUBE WELDER

Based out of Rocket Lab Headquarters in Long Beach, California, the Orbital Tube Welder / Senior Orbital Tube Welder will weld and fabricate various fluid systems and sub-assembly components for the Rutherford and Archimedes Rocket engines.

What You’ll Get To Do

  • Follow procedures to set up and operate the Orbital Weld System
  • Weld assemblies according to work orders, blueprints, and verbal instructions
  • Use inspection gauges
  • Follow blueprints to meet product specifications within tight tolerances
  • Maintain a clean work area

(This position can be hired as an Orbital Tube Welder or Senior Orbital Tube Welder)

You'll Bring These Qualifications As An Orbital Tube Welder

  • 2+ years of experience in Orbital Tube Welding
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Experience with materials such as Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A SENIOR ORBITAL TUBE WELDER:

  • 5+ years of experience in Orbital Tube Welding
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Experience with materials such as Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum

These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have

  • Knowledgeable in Part QA processes and dye penetrant testing
  • High-level manual dexterity skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and layout
  • Able to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area

Additional Requirements

  • Willing to work 2nd shift (Monday-Thursday 2:30pm - 1:00am)
  • Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
  • Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Must be able to move repetitively, bend or twist, and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods – 8 hours min
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
