Job summary

Omitron is seeking an Orbital Safety Analyst in orbital analysis, space defense, and satellite collision avoidance at our Vandenberg SFB, CA location.

The role involves solving orbital mechanics problems, processing data for orbit states, coordinating information across functions, and potential expansion into conjunction assessment and related tasks; occasional after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of space-related experience involving Space Situational Awareness, satellite catalog maintenance, orbital analysis, and collision avoidance.
• In-depth knowledge of orbital mechanics and astrodynamics, including sensor data understanding.
• Ability to apply orbital mechanics concepts to operations and orbit maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise to solve orbital mechanics problems and process data for orbit states and predictions.
• Coordinate information across functions to enable customer situational awareness and decisions.
• Possibility to broaden into conjunction assessment and related orbit analysis tasks.
• Crew work with hours outside normal business hours as required.
