Job summary

SilverRide is seeking compassionate independent contractor drivers to partner with us. Help older adults get to medical appointments, social outings, and more with our door-through-door transportation service.

As a Driver Companion, you\'ll be reliable, friendly, and ready to provide assistance. Earn money while meeting new people and supporting riders who need a little extra help.

Qualifications

• Age 21 or older.
• A valid U.S. driver\'s license for a minimum of 3 years with a clean driving record; proof will be required.
• A driving record check will be completed and reviewed before you\'re authorized to join the network.
• No DUI/DWI; no more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
• Must pass Federal Transit Authority and state drug and alcohol tests prior to employment and agree to random testing while active in SilverRide’s driver network.
• Willingness to be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check.
• No felonies or charges involving violence.
• Not on the National Sex Offender Registry.
• Meet SilverRide\'s credentialing requirements related to senior condition knowledge, ADA, physical transfers, safety, etc.
• Drivers must agree to take passengers with service animals.

Responsibilities

• Drive as an independent contractor to transport riders to appointments, social outings, and more.
• Provide door-through-door assistance and ensure rider safety and comfort.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure adherence to credentialing and safety standards.
• Participate in vehicle inspections and pass state-required checks.

About SilverRide:

SilverRide is a fully licensed TNC operator that facilitates assisted-ride services to a broad range of individuals and organizations who need support during their trip. We’ve provided over a million rides for older adults, people living with disabilities, and others with mobility challenges since our founding in 2007.

We help clients get things done, socialize and have enriching life experiences. This is accomplished via door-through-door service, helping folks from inside their homes to the vehicle and then from the vehicle to their destination. SilverRide’s network of drivers provides service to riders for transit agencies, healthcare providers and senior service organizations that can have heavy compliance and credentialing requirements. SilverRide is an expert in these requirements and can assist you in filling in any gaps you may have so that these driving opportunities are available to you.
• Drivers must agree to take passengers with service animals. Even if a driver has allergies, the law requires that the driver take the rider and service animal.
• 4-door sedan or low SUV that is 2016 or newer with 5 to 8 passenger seats including driver.
• Current, valid vehicle registration.
• Proof of insurance in your name.
• Your vehicle will have to pass an inspection as required by your state.
• Vehicles need to be clean and not have any smell of smoke or drugs (marijuana).
