Job summary

Mountain State Oral & Facial Surgery seeks a skilled Surgical Assistant to support our team of oral and maxillofacial surgeons. The role emphasizes patient safety and efficient surgical workflow within a multi-state network.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, maintaining records, imaging, anesthesia documentation, and postoperative monitoring. Certifications in DAANCE, N2O, and CPR are preferred along with relevant surgical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; surgical assisting certification preferred.
• Experience in oral surgery, dental surgery, or medical surgical setting preferred.
• DAANCE, N2O, and CPR certifications required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, as needed.
• Review and document patient medical histories.
• Ensure consent forms are completed and signed.
• Prepare and process patient prescriptions with accuracy.
• Monitor vital signs including BP, EKG, and pulse oximetry.
• Document anesthesia records and patient charting.
• Maintain patient airways during sedation and assist with suctioning.
• Provide post-operative monitoring and discharge to caregiver.
• Prepare and sanitize surgical and examination rooms.
• Assist with ongoing surgical procedures.
• Uphold HIPAA confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
• Support clinic operations and patient flow.
