Job summary

Mountain State Oral & Facial Surgery is seeking a skilled Surgical Assistant to support our team of oral and maxillofacial surgeons. You will help during procedures, ensure patient safety, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Ideal candidates have certification or relevant training, experience in oral/dental surgery, strong instrument knowledge, and a commitment to confidentiality and infection control.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Assistant or equivalent training preferred.
• Experience in oral/dental/medical surgical settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and OR protocols.
• Commitment to infection control and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Perform diagnostic imaging (X-rays) as needed.
• Review and document patient medical histories.
• Ensure all consent forms are completed and signed.
• Prepare and process patient prescriptions with accuracy.
• Monitor vital signs, including blood pressure, EKG, and pulse oximetry.
• Document anesthesia records and patient charting.
• Maintain patient airways during sedation and provide post-operative monitoring.
• Prepare and sanitize surgical and examination rooms.
• Assist with ongoing surgical procedures and support clinic operations.
