Job summary

Ideal Dental in Garland, Texas is seeking an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to support surgeons and the care team. You will prepare and sterilize instruments, assist during procedures, take X-rays, and help maintain a clean, safe surgical area.

Requirements include an active Registered Dental Assistant license, current CPR certification, and at least 1 year of oral surgery experience; travel within assigned areas may be required.

As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant at Ideal Dental, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care and support to both our patients and dental team. What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment.

• Prepare patients for surgery, including applying topical anesthetics and explaining the procedure to help them feel at ease.

• Provide "chairside" assistance to the oral surgeon, anticipating their needs and efficiently passing instruments.

• Maintain a clear surgical field using suction hoses and other equipment.

• Monitor patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate) and anesthesia levels.

• Provide patients with detailed post-operative instructions for managing pain, preventing infection, and promoting healing.

• Clean and disinfect the operating room and instruments after the procedure.

• Schedule follow-up appointments and handle other administrative tasks as needed.

• Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory.

• Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment to take and process dental radiographs.
