Job summary

University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry seeks a Dental Surgical Assistant for the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Resident Clinic. You will provide chairside support to faculty, residents and students during oral surgery and prepare patients and monitors for sedation.

You will assemble surgical trays for extractions, biopsies, and implants. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 12 months of dental assisting experience, with required certifications in Dental Assistant, OMSDA,

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 12 months experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Dental Assistant Certification or OMSDA with the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry; Radiology; Basic CPR required.
• 6 months experience in Oral Surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to faculty, residents and dental students during oral surgery procedures.
• Prepare patients with monitors for sedation and assist with procedures.
• Prepare surgical trays with instrumentation for basic and IV extractions, biopsies and implants.
