Job summary

East Atlanta Oral Implant & Facial in Atlanta, GA seeks an Oral Surgery Assistant to join a fast-paced surgical team. You will assist surgeons during extractions, implants, and facial procedures, while preparing sterilized instruments and monitoring patient safety across all stages of care.

Responsibilities include imaging (X-rays/CBCT), documentation in the practice system, and educating patients on post-op care. Prior dental assistant experience and CPR/BLS are required or obtainable upon hire.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a dental or oral surgery assistant strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of oral surgery instruments and terminology.
• Current Dental Radiography (X-ray) certification required.
• CPR/BLS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Familiarity with IV sedation protocols and monitoring is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures including extractions, dental implants, and facial surgeries.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and operatory rooms before and after procedures.
• Monitor and support patient comfort and safety throughout pre-op, intra-op, and post-op stages.
• Take and process dental X-rays and 3D CBCT scans as directed.
• Document patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories accurately in practice management software.
• Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and answer follow-up questions.
• Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and assist with ordering and stocking as needed.
