Gateway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons of St. Louis is seeking an experienced Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team. You will support the surgeon with oral surgery procedures, IV sedation, patient care, and daily practice operations in a patient-focused environment.

Qualifikationen

• Previous dental assisting experience; oral surgery experience preferred.
• Experience assisting with IV sedation and surgical procedures.
• Anesthesia assisting certification is desirable.
• Familiarity with surgical instruments, sterilization and infection control procedures.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm, focused and organized throughout the workday.

Aufgaben

• Assist the surgeon with oral surgery procedures, including extractions, dental implants, and other surgical treatments.
• Assist with IV sedation procedures and patient monitoring, as permitted by training and qualifications.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Maintain proper sterilization procedures and infection control standards.
• Assist with patient intake, preparation, recovery, and post-operative instructions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Help manage surgical supplies, inventory, and equipment.
• Work closely with the surgeon and other team members to keep the day running smoothly.
• Provide a welcoming, compassionate experience for every patient.
