Qualifications

  • DDS/DMD from an accredited dental education program.
  • Current, valid state license to practice oral surgery or eligibility.
  • Minimum 2 years oral surgery experience.
  • Post-doctoral residency in Oral Surgery completed.
  • CPR, DEA, and other state-mrequired certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert patient consultations and personalized treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with other specialists to plan treatments.
  • Maintain detailed patient notes and records of appointments, tests and treatments.
  • Administer general and local anesthetics when necessary.
  • Perform surgical procedures including implants, extractions, and removal of tumors or abnormal growths.
  • Prescribe medications to aid recovery and manage post-operative pain.
  • Treat infections of the oral cavity, salivary glands, jaw, face and neck.
  • Provide emergency treatment for orofacial injuries.
  • Support and advise patients undergoing long-term care.
  • Optional opportunities for research in oral and facial health.

Job description

General Overview

Exciting opportunity for an Oral Surgeon in San Diego! Start with 2 days/month, with potential for growth. Enjoy clinical autonomy in a cutting-edge,patient-focused practice.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert patient consultations and personalized treatment planning.
  • Collaborating with other specialists to plan treatments.
  • Recording patient care by maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
  • Administering general and local anesthetics, when necessary.
  • Performing surgical procedures to extract impacted or damaged teeth, place dental implants, and remove tumors and other abnormal growths of the oral and/or facial regions.
  • Prescribing medication to improve recovery and control pain after procedures.
  • Treating infections of the oral cavity, salivary glands, jaw, face, and neck.
  • Providing emergency treatment of orofacial injuries including facial lacerations, intraoral lacerations, and fractured facial bones.
  • Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
  • Optional research opportunities in oral and facial health.
Qualifications
  • DDS/DMD from a dental education program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
  • Current, valid state license to practice (License must be in good standing) or eligible for licensure as an oral surgeon.
  • Minimum 2 years oral surgery experience required.
  • Other certifications as required by state to include - CPR, DEA, etc.
  • Completion of a post-doctoral residency program in Oral Surgery
