Job summary

University of New Mexico in Albuquerque seeks a full-time Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS) to provide and oversee surgical services, including pathologies, trauma, reconstruction, dentoalveolar, and implants. This is a clinical/tenure track position at Assistant or Associate Professor level with an appointment in Dental Medicine.

The role joins an interdisciplinary team delivering education, clinical care and research within the School of Medicine's Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery

Qualifications

• CODA-accredited DDS/DMD.
• Completion of a full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery residency.
• OMS Board Certified or candidate for certification.
• Eligibility for licensure in New Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Resident education and training.
• Appointment in the Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
• Trauma call at UNMH, a Level I trauma center.
• Assist in the development of the clinical, educational and research aspects of the program.
• Play a pivotal role in building an oral and maxillofacial residency program at the University of New Mexico.
• Participation in cleft lip and palate Craniofacial anomalies team.

Education

CODA accredited DDS/DMD

Completion of a full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery residency

OMS Board Certified or active candidate for certification

Eligibility for licensure in New Mexico
