Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Washington DC VA Medical Center seeks an Oral Surgeon to provide the full range of dental and maxillofacial procedures for adults.

The role includes complex surgical care and coordinating with hospital services to maintain patient safety and quality of care. The incumbent will lead the oral surgery section, train GPR and OMS residents, and work with multiple departments to implement the mission of the VA.

Qualifications

• Duties include but are not limited to: patient care and surgical management of oral and maxillofacial conditions.
• Leadership and guidance to residents in the oral surgery section.
• Collaborates with hospital services to meet safety and quality goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Program Manager of the oral surgery section in the dental department.
• Provide SME guidance for complex oral surgery cases.
• Train General Practice Residents and OMS residents rotating through the section.
• Consult with other departments to coordinate care and resources.
• Support Joint Commission readiness and patient safety initiatives.
