Job summary

Dynamo Technologies LLC is seeking an Oracle Database Migration Specialist to lead assessment, planning, and execution of Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migrations in enterprise environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with Ora2Pg, CDC-based cutover, and manual PL/SQL to PostgreSQL conversions, plus strong SQL tuning and cloud-hosted DB expertise. Minimal travel and a focus on secure, scalable migrations are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of 7+ years of relevant database experience (11+ years without a Bachelor’s).
• Experience supporting at least one Oracle database migration project.
• Experience with Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migrations and data transformation concepts.
• Hands-on use of migration tooling and manual remediation of complex objects.

Responsibilities

• Assess current Oracle database environments and identify migration considerations, risks, and dependencies.
• Develop migration strategies, roadmaps, and implementation plans.
• Execute database migration activities, including schema conversion and data migration.
• Collaborate with application teams to remediate DB issues during migration, including JDBC/ODBC changes.
• Analyze and optimize database performance during migration lifecycle.
• Support testing activities: functional, integration, performance, and UAT.
• Document migration procedures, designs, and operational processes.
• Provide recommendations for modernization and operational improvements.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve DB-related issues throughout the migration lifecycle.
