Job summary

Next Gen Software Solutions LLC in Alpharetta, GA seeks an accomplished Oracle SQL/PL-SQL Developer for a long-term contract-to-hire engagement. You will design, optimize, and manage high-performance relational database solutions and implement robust data models.

The role requires 8+ years of experience and onsite work five days a week. You will build complex PL/SQL logic, tune queries for throughput, and collaborate with Java teams to ensure data tier alignment.

Qualifications

• Proficient experience with Oracle Database 19c/21c and related tooling.
• Advanced PL/SQL with collections, bulk operations, analytics and ref cursors.
• Tuning methodologies including partitioning, optimizer stats, and execution paths.
• Experience with UNIX scripting for automation and batch jobs.
• Familiarity with Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD or PL/SQL Developer.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and maintain robust Oracle database objects (procedures, packages, functions, triggers).
• Code complex business rules in PL/SQL for security and performance.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize slow SQL statements using available tools.
• Model relational databases with schemas, tables, keys, and indexes.
• Develop and maintain ETL workflows to ingest external data.
• Collaborate with Java teams to align APIs with data tier structures.
• Prepare deployment scripts and manage schema version control.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Oracle SQL/PL-SQL Developer to design, develop and manage high-performance relational database solutions. You will be responsible for creating robust data models, writing advanced server-side programmatic logic, and aggressively tuning complex queries to ensure maximum data throughput and application stability

Key Responsibilities

• Database Programming: Design, write, and maintain robust, high-performance database objects like stored procedures, packages, functions, and database triggers.
• Business Logic Integration: Code complex business rules directly into the Oracle database layer using PL/SQL for security and processing speed.
• Performance Tuning: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize sluggish SQL statements using available tools
• Data Modeling: Design efficient relational database architectures including schemas, tables, primary/foreign key relationships, and indexes.
• ETL Pipeline Development: Build, manage, and scale Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) data integration workflows to ingest external application data
• Collaboration & Integration: Interface with backend application developers (e.g., Java engineering teams) to align front-end APIs with data tier structures.
• Migration & Maintenance: Author deployment scripts, execute data migration runs, and maintain comprehensive schema version control.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Requirements

• Oracle Database Expertise: Proficient experience with recent versions (e.g., Oracle 19c or 21c).
• Advanced PL/SQL Mastery: Proven capability utilizing collections, bulk operations, analytical functions, and ref cursors.
• Tuning Methodologies: Hands‑on experience partitioning tables, managing optimizer statistics, and modifying query execution paths.
• IDE Tools: High familiarity with database interfaces, specifically Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, or PL/SQL Developer.
• Scripting Language: High familiarity and experience with UNIX scripting.

Preferred / "Nice-to-Have" Skills
