Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a PeopleSoft HCM Conversion Consultant to support large-scale implementations and upgrades, analyzing conversion defects and ensuring data quality across cycles. You will work with functional and technical teams, testing groups, and clients in a collaborative, outcome-driven environment.

Hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ, with flexibility and a focus on work-life balance. Strong prior PeopleSoft HCM experience and data conversion expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, business, or related field.
• 10+ years of functional PeopleSoft HCM experience including data conversion.
• Strong understanding of core HCM modules: Workforce Administration, Job Data, Personal Data, Benefits, Payroll interfaces.
• Experience in defect analysis, root-cause remediation, during conversion cycles.
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and conversion testing with stakeholder communication.

About the role

As a PeopleSoft HCM Conversion Consultant, you will make an impact by supporting large-scale PeopleSoft HCM implementations and upgrades, analyzing and resolving conversion-related defects, and ensuring data quality across multiple conversion cycles. You will be a valued member of the PeopleSoft HCM data conversion team and work collaboratively with functional and technical teams, testing teams, and clients.

In this role, you will

• Analyze and validate PeopleSoft HCM conversion requirements and data mapping specifications, and support end-to-end data conversion activities across multiple project phases.
• Investigate, analyze, and remediate conversion-related defects and data discrepancies.
• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and verification following conversion loads, and review source and target data for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare and execute test scenarios to support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and conversion testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide status updates on conversion progress, risks, and issue resolution.

What you must have to be considered

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of functional experience in PeopleSoft HCM, including hands-on support of data conversion activities.
• Strong understanding of core HCM modules such as Workforce Administration, Job Data, Personal Data, Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll interfaces.
• Experience in defect analysis, root cause identification, and remediation during conversion cycles, plus knowledge of data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and data quality processes.
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and conversion testing, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

These will help you succeed

• Experience with PeopleSoft HCM implementation, upgrade, or transformation projects.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft Query, SQL, and data extraction/validation techniques.
• Experience with conversion tools, ETL processes, and data migration methodologies.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and exposure to Oracle HCM Cloud migration or coexistence projects.
• Relevant PeopleSoft or Oracle certifications.

The annual salary for this position is between $83,250- $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
