Job summary

Archer, in collaboration with Oracle, seeks an Oracle DBA to support day-to-day database operations, performance tuning, and high availability across on-premises and cloud environments. The role requires US citizenship with TS/SCI w/poly clearance and willingness to work shifts and weekends.

You will manage RMAN backups, RAC/Data Guard, and shell scripting on Linux systems, ensuring security, recoverability, and optimal system performance.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required and active TS/SCI with poly clearance.
• Willing to work shifts and weekends.
• Strong experience with Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c or later).
• RMAN backup and recovery expertise, including DR scenarios.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
• Linux/Unix administration (RHEL, Oracle Linux).
• Shell scripting (Bash).
• System performance tools (top, vmstat, iostat).
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
• Performance tuning using AWR/ASH and execution plans.
• Knowledge of Oracle architecture (SGA, PGA, redo/undo).
• Experience with patching and upgrades.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and optimize mission-critical Oracle database environments.
• Ensure database availability, performance, security, and recoverability across on-premises and cloud systems.
• Work with SRE to own end-to-end service operability and performance.
• Design and implement improvements in service architecture.
• Communicate architecture decisions and guide development teams.
• Act as escalation point for complex issues and document SOPs.
