Job summary

Quantum Technologies. LLC in Boise, Idaho is seeking a seasoned SQL Server Database Administrator to manage the full database lifecycle, including schema, security, upgrades, patches, backups, and capacity planning for high availability.

You will support application teams across Production, Test and Development, implement Always On, develop recovery plans, and tune performance while scripting routine jobs. Cloud governance and Cohesity backup experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience.
• Experience with Always On high availability and disaster recovery.
• Proficient in backup/restore, security, and schema management.
• Automation scripting and batch job scheduling a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage schema, security, setup, upgrades, patches, backups and recovery, and capacity planning for SQL Server.
• Support application teams and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Support SQL Server in Production, Test and Development environments.
• Install, upgrade, configure Always On, and deploy complex DB software.
• Develop and implement database recovery plans and procedures.
• Analyze database performance and recommend tuning.
• Implement user authentication and security protocols across systems.
• Review system design and deploy new database systems as needed.
• Modify database structure or deploy schema changes for new requirements.
• Script batch data loads and automate operational jobs.
• Leverage Cohesity Backup Appliance and cloud governance knowledge.

Job description

Manage all aspects of physical database administration including schema management; security, setup, installations, upgrades, patches, backup and recovery, space management, performance tuning and capacity planning for SQL Server.

• Support application teams and their projects to enhance, troubleshoot and performance tune
• Support SQL Server databases in Production, Test and Development environments and within Microsoft
• SharePoint farm
• Install, upgrade, configure ALWAYS ON, test and deploy complex database software
• Develop and implement database recovery plans and procedures
• Analyze the performance of databases and recommends tuning and application changes
• Implement user authentication and validate databases security protocols across systems
• Reviews system design and develop new database systems as needed
• Modifying database structure or deploying schema changes as a result of new requirements
• Scripting batch data loads and operational job automation
• Working Knowledge of Cohesity Backup Appliance.
• Working Knowledge of Cloud Technology and governance.
