Job summary

Quantum Technologies. LLC is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will manage Oracle databases (18c/19c) with RAC/ASM, perform upgrades, patching, and migrations, and ensure high availability in Unix/Linux environments.

Responsibilities include performance tuning, GoldenGate implementation, and maintenance of backup solutions while collaborating with multiple teams to ensure database reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Oracle databases in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle 18c/19c databases.
• Proficient with Oracle RAC, ASM, and GoldenGate deployments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer Oracle databases in enterprise environments.
• Apply PSU patches and perform upgrades to Oracle 19c.
• Plan and execute migrations across data centers with minimal downtime.
• Manage Oracle RAC and ASM environments for high availability.
• Implement and troubleshoot GoldenGate replication.
• Monitor and tune database performance; resolve bottlenecks.
• Configure and maintain database backup strategies and DR plans.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure availability.

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on experience in Oracle 18c/19c, database upgrades, patching, performance tuning, RAC, ASM, and database migration. The candidate should have experience managing large enterprise databases in Unix/Linux environments.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database 18c and 19c.
• Experience with IBM AIX, Linux, and Sun Solaris Unix operating systems.
• Experience applying PSU patches to Oracle databases.
• Database upgrades to Oracle 19c.
• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate implementation and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting multi-node Oracle RAC systems.
• Strong knowledge of Automatic Storage Management (ASM), including instance creation and troubleshooting.
• Experience upgrading and migrating large databases across data centers.
• Strong database performance tuning and bottleneck analysis skills.
• Good understanding of Oracle database architecture.
• Experience configuring and supporting third-party backup solutions such as IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM).
• Ability to support multiple application and infrastructure teams across ongoing projects.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with rolling upgrades in Oracle environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
