Job Description:

The client Pace is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to monitor, manage incidents, oversee security, and optimize Oracle database performance. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Oracle 19c+, RAC, Data Guard, APEX, and database security tools and must be experienced in handling database patching, cloning, and infrastructure maintenance.

Specialty Areas:

  • Database Administration & Security – Managing Oracle 19c+ databases, Data Guard, RAC, AVDF, and implementing security controls.
  • Incident & Service Management – Handling alerts, incident resolution, and reporting using ServiceNow.
  • Infrastructure & Patching – Planning and executing database patching, Exadata maintenance, and VM farm management.
  • Performance Optimization & Monitoring – Utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, and advanced database performance tuning techniques.
  • Technical Expertise – Strong hands-on experience in Oracle APEX, ORDS, Apache Tomcat, HTTP reverse proxy, VMware, and networking.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager for database monitoring.
  • Implement alert thresholds and integrate alerts with ServiceNow.
  • Manage incidents and service requests to ensure timely resolution.
  • Implement security controls, encryption, data masking, and audit configurations.
  • Plan and execute patching for Oracle databases, Exadata, and related infrastructure.
  • Maintain and upgrade Oracle APEX services, including ORDS and Apache Tomcat.
  • Perform database cloning, backup, and recovery.
  • Ensure database performance, availability, and scalability.

  • Strong understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, and Oracle APEX.
  • PMP Certification or experience with ITIL processes.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, ITSM processes, and automation tools.
