Job summary

Artifintech in Dallas, TX seeks an experienced Oracle Database Administrator for a 9-month + extension engagement. The role covers DBA operations, performance tuning, high availability, security and production support across Dev, QA and Production environments.

Candidate should have hands-on experience with RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM and Linux/Unix, plus scripting (Shell/Python). Cloud exposure and ITSM familiarity are a plus; on-site work in Dallas is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, configuring, patching and upgrading Oracle databases across Dev, QA and Production.
• Hands-on with RAC, Data Guard and RMAN backup/recovery operations.
• Ability to provide production support within ITIL/SLA frameworks.

Responsibilities

• DBA Operations: Install, configure, patch, upgrade, refresh, clone, and migrate Oracle databases across environments.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor health and optimize SQL using AWR, ASH, ADDM and execution plans.
• High Availability & DR: Support RAC, ASM, Data Guard; manage RMAN backups and DR drills.
• Security & Administration: Manage Oracle users, roles, privileges and security policies.
• Production Support: Handle incidents, service requests, RCA tasks, weekend/off-hours support.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with application, Linux, storage, network teams; update SOPs/docs.

Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator

Bill Rate: 69/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• DBA Operations: Install, configure, patch, upgrade, refresh, clone, and migrate Oracle databases across Dev, QA, and Production environments.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor system health and optimize database/SQL performance using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and execution-plan analysis.
• High Availability & DR: Support Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard; manage RMAN backup/recovery, and lead DR drills (failover/failback).
• Security & Administration: Manage Oracle users, roles, privileges, profiles, and enforce data security policies.
• Production Support: Handle incidents, service requests, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) under strict ITIL/SLA frameworks; provide weekend/off-hours support.
• Collaboration: Partner with application, infrastructure, Linux, storage, and network teams; maintain SOPs and technical documentation.

Technical Skills:

• Core Systems: Oracle Database 12c/19c+, Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
• Tools & OS: Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Linux/Unix Administration, and Shell scripting.
• Tuning: Advanced SQL/PLSQL troubleshooting and database diagnostics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) exposure and cloud transformation/migration experience.
• Automation: Modern scripting via Python or Ansible.
• ITSM: Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or similar service platforms.
• Industry: Prior experience supporting Healthcare or large-scale enterprise accounts
