Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Engineer
Location: Remote position (must be available to work in EST and CST time zones). Onsite availability preferred but not required.
Role Overview
The Oracle Cloud Engineer will manage and optimize cloud infrastructure resources, providing expert technical support for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments. This position requires specialized knowledge in Oracle cloud technologies and strong problem-solving capabilities to maintain robust cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage IaaS and PaaS resources on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Configure and manage VCN, Subnets, and Routing rules on OCI
- Instantiate, apply regular patches and administer Compute, Storage, and Load Balancers on OCI
- Stand up and manage cloud database services including Autonomous Database (ATP DB) and Autonomous Datawarehouse (ADW) on OCI
- Administer, set up and manage Oracle PaaS services such as Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle FAW, and ODI (Oracle Data Integrator) Marketplace
- Set up and manage Jump Servers and SFTP Servers on OCI
- Provide functional and technical support, incident management, instance administration, release management, upgrade support, and testing
- Implement patch updates and manage backup systems
- Provision and manage access to environments
- Manage roles and access permissions on Oracle Cloud Environments
- Provide escalated technical support for complex issues, including leading problem management cases
- Coordinate escalated support cases with internal technical resources and/or third-party vendors
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (or similar cloud providers)
- Strong understanding of key concepts including Compute, Storage, Networking, Security & Identity, and Databases
- Working knowledge of Platform as a Service (PaaS), preferably Oracle Integration Cloud Service, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Java Cloud Service, and various Marketplace offerings in Oracle
- Experience with Oracle Autonomous Databases Services
- Advanced experience with Windows Server 2016–2022 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7-9 engineering and administration
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot Windows Server or Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems
- Specialized knowledge in cloud technology
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
