Job description

The candidate must have experience in Hadoop with Oracle and Teradata administration skills, expert in Business Intelligence and provides operational support of production systems utilized for analytics and decision making by the business.

This position is the final tier in escalation support prior to seeking involvement from management. Candidate would be considered a key member of any group, as they provide architectural/ technical/support leadership to the entire team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with the team in providing hardware architectural guidance, planning and estimating cluster capacity, and creating roadmaps for Hadoop cluster deployment
• Evaluation of Hadoop infrastructure requirements and design/deploy solutions (high availability, big data clusters, etc)
• Troubleshoot and debug Hadoop eco system runtime issues.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience with Hadoop
• 2 years experience with Teradata
• Oracle BI experience
• Good Experience in Oracle and Teradata databases.
• Strong experience in tuning long running queries in Teradata and Oracle environments
• Hands on experience with the Hadoop stack such as Sqoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hbase, Pig, Hive, Oozie.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties with respect to business needs
• Hands on expertise in systems administration, Linux tools, configuration management on large scale environment.
• Expertise with enterprise data warehouses.
• Expertise with data integration and scheduling tools preferably Tidal and Control-M.
• Ability to write, debug SQL and PL/SQL, packages, procedures etc.
• Working knowledge of Unix operating system, command set and basic shell scripting.
• Flexible in work schedule to cover 24/7 operational support
• Systems analysis skills to support/maintain operational systems
• Strong communications skills verbal and written
• Very good knowledge of scheduling and job prioritization for a high demand 24/7 Business Intelligence organization.

Desired Skills

• SAS 9 implementation, installation, architecture design and administration is plus.
