Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks an experienced Database Engineer to support a government information system. Focus on Oracle 19c administration across on‑premises and AWS RDS, with schema design, backups, and security hardening.

You will collaborate with Java developers to optimize DB interactions, support SAP BI reporting, and ensure seamless Solr indexing integration. The role requires meticulous troubleshooting, strong documentation, and a Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Oracle 19c in production environments.
• Experience with Oracle administration in on-premises and AWS RDS.
• Experience designing and implementing database schemas for enterprise apps.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience backing up and restoring Oracle databases.
• Experience implementing Oracle security hardening measures.
• Experience patching and upgrading Oracle databases.
• Experience optimizing interactions with Java applications.
• Experience integrating databases with search/indexing platforms (Solr).
• Experience troubleshooting complex production database issues.
• Experience implementing government compliance controls (FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Experience deploying and maintaining database monitoring tools.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage Oracle 19c databases in on-premises and AWS RDS.
• Design and implement schemas to support applications.
• Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
• Execute patch management and version upgrades for Oracle databases.
• Establish and maintain backup and restore procedures.
