Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to support the modernization of a critical government information system. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle 19c, with strong on‑premises and AWS RDS experience, and will implement robust backup/restore, security hardening, and disaster recovery procedures.

You will collaborate with Java developers to optimize DB interactions, support SAP BI reporting, and ensure seamless integration with Apache Solr indexing

Qualifications

• Experience administering Oracle 19c databases in production environments.
• Experience with on-premises and AWS RDS Oracle deployments.
• Ability to design and implement enterprise database schemas.
• Proven skills in performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience backing up and restoring Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of Oracle security hardening measures.
• Experience with patch management and upgrades for Oracle databases.
• Ability to optimize DB interactions with Java applications and integrate with Solr.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage Oracle 19c databases in on-premises and AWS RDS.
• Design and implement schemas to support application needs.
• Tune database performance and optimize queries.
• Execute patching and upgrade tasks for Oracle DBs.
• Establish robust backup and restore procedures.

• Ensure data integrity and availability across environments.
