Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking an OR Turnover Technician to support daily operating room activities by cleaning and disinfecting suites, transporting patients and equipment, stocking supplies, and performing tasks per guidelines.

Responsibilities include turning over ORs between cases, assisting the operative team, transporting items, maintaining PHI security, and following procedures. Position may be eligible for preceptor premium pay upon completion of preceptor education and leader approval.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and push heavy objects such as patients, supplies and carts.
• Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous waste and substances.
• Knowledge of positioning equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with the team to improve patient care and daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate efficient turnover of operating rooms between cases and prep for next case.
• Support operative team with requests while cases are in progress.
• Participate as a productive member of the OR Assistant team.
• Transport patients, trays, blood gases, specimens and equipment.
• Maintain PHI security and confidentiality for patients.
