Summary

Performs daily terminal cleaning of the operating rooms, sub-sterile rooms, and sterile core. Performs daily UV cycles in operating rooms after terminal cleans have been completed. Additionally, performs scheduled cleaning in accordance with established schedule, including areas such as: clean and soiled storage, sterile storage, shelving, drawers, storage bins, corridors, walls, ceilings, pneumatic tubes, carriers, restrooms. Maintains documentation of environmental cleaning requirements. Assists in removing sharps, bio waste, trash, linens, stocks soap, sanitizer, and paper towels, among other duties.

Essential Functions

• Performs daily floor disinfection using microfiber mops, hospital-approved disinfectants, or automated scrubbing machines. May include buffing and waxing floors.
• Clean and disinfect all exposed surfaces of equipment and furniture, including wheels and casters, following manufacturer instructions. Items include anesthesia carts, machines, monitors, beds, straps, attachments, devices, lights, tables, furniture, switches, handles, communication devices, accessories, chairs, trash, and linens.
• Clean vents, fans, fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, walls, and high areas using appropriate tools.
• Perform terminal cleaning of operating rooms, following isolation procedures as needed.
• Wet mop rooms, walls, stairways, and sterile areas.
• Remove waste and soiled linens, and inspect the hospital’s physical condition, making recommendations for improvements.
• Move, remove, and relocate furniture and equipment as directed.
• Follow safety and confidentiality policies and exhibit excellent customer service.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Two years of related experience.
• Licensure/Certification: None required.
