Job summary

A healthcare service provider is looking for a Surgical Technician in Eureka, CA. This full-time role involves assisting in a variety of surgical procedures, managing surgical instruments, and participating in call rotations. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience and relevant certifications. Expertise in various surgical procedures and familiarity with the Aseptic Technique is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant field, preferably in Level 2 trauma.
• Community Hospital Experience preferred.
• Experience with charting systems, particularly Epic, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a variety of surgical procedures including General, Plastics, Orthopedics, and more.
• Manage surgical instruments and ensure aseptic techniques are followed.
• Participate in call rotations, approximately 1 weekend per month.

Base pay range

$35.00/hr - $38.00/hr

Duties

• Assist in a variety of surgical procedures including General, Plastics, Orthopedics, Neuro Spine, Vascular, OB/GYN, Urology, and ENT.
• Manage surgical instruments and ensure aseptic techniques are followed.
• Participate in call rotations, approximately 1 weekend per month and 1-2 nights per week.
• Float between like units as required and accommodate block schedules per manager discretion.
• Ensure compliance with all facility guidelines and protocols.

Skills

• Proficiency in a variety of surgical procedures across different specialties including Vascular, Gynecology, Plastics, Neuro Surgery, Trauma, Orthopedic, Cardiovascular, General Surgery, and more.
• Knowledge of Aseptic Technique, Instrument Processing, Laser Safety, Radiation Safety, Sharps Safety, and Sterilization/Disinfection.
• Experience with Sterile Processing, including Assembly/Wrap, Endoscopes, Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing, and more.
• Familiarity with Endoscopic Procedures, Robotics, and Equipment/Instrumentation/Supplies.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably in a Level 2 trauma or travel setting.
• Community Hospital Experience preferred.
• Trauma Level II Experience preferred.
• Certifications required: BLS, CST, NCCT.
• Experience with charting systems, particularly Epic, is advantageous.
