Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL, is seeking an Operating Room Technician for full-time day shifts. The role focuses on preparing sterile supplies and instruments for procedures and maintaining a sterile field throughout cases.

The successful candidate will scrub both minor and major surgeries across various specialties, with a current BLS certification required at hire and maintained thereafter.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required for new hires.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years experience in surgical setting.
• Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (GYN, General, Plastics).
• Experience scrubbing minor procedures in specialty areas (orthopedics, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each procedure.
• Maintain sterile field during the case.
• Provide surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Responsibilities

The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.

2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).

3. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).

4. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).

5. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
