MEP Health is seeking an OR Tech I in Newark, NJ to assist during surgeries under the guidance of a registered nurse. The role involves maintaining sterility, handling instruments, and supporting the surgical team across multiple service lines.

Candidates should have a surgical technician training background, 2–3 years of scrub experience, NBSTSA certification, and a current BLS credential. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience with strong knowledge of scrub procedures.
• Certified Surgical Technician and NBSTSA Certification are required.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Assist with a variety of surgical procedures across service lines such as robotics, vascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, plastic, and trauma.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, handle surgical instruments, and support the surgeon and RN throughout the operation.
• Communicate effectively with team members and make calls as needed.
• Work independently, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.

• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, handle surgical instruments, and support the surgeon and RN throughout the operation.

Additional Details

• Shift: Day, with alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage.
• Pay range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour, based on experience and skills.
