Job summary

The Overland Park Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, invites December graduates to join our RN Nurse Residency Program. The 22-week orientation prepares new grads for OR Surgery, with on-call requirements including overnights and weekends. Start dates include February 15, 2027, reserved for December 2026 grads.

Program focuses on hands-on experiences, mentoring from nurse leaders, and collaborative evidence-based projects to transition from student nurse to licensed RN.

Qualifications

BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
ACLS certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
Additional certifications may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other medically ordered tasks.
Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses; notify provider as needed.
Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to provide exceptional care.
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-ups.
