Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks an OR Attendant to support surgical teams by transporting patients and cleaning OR suites between procedures. You will assist anesthesia staff by stocking supplies, cleaning machines, and moving equipment as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification within 90 days. Prior environmental services or OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED degree REQUIRED.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Prior Environmental Services or operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients from inpatient/ER/ICU to pre-op holding area.
• Clean operating room suites between procedures.
• Stock anesthesia supplies and clean anesthesia machines.
• Transport specimens and blood products to the lab.
• Stock formalin containers used for specimen handling and transport.
• Assist in positioning surgical patients under guidance of OR staff.
• Prepare the operating room by opening sterile supplies and ensuring equipment is ready.
