Job summary

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist certification required.
• HS diploma or GED; graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Minimum one year experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Hospital setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person in the Operating Rooms and prepares cases with instrumentation.
• Maintains sterile field and performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Prepares specimens and delivers to the Pathology log with proper labeling.
• Monitors room conditions and equipment; adheres to safety and infection control policies.
• Precepts new staff and supports productivity with timely case turnover.
• Performs general room cleanup and supports theater operations as needed.
