Job summary

Bucks County Surgical Suites Highpoint is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide nursing care during surgical cases in a fast-paced ambulatory environment. The OR RN will position and prep patients, circulate cases, and assess care for all age groups in the operating room, following standards and policies while coordinating with physicians and the OR team.

Additional duties may include committee work and quality improvement tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program with PA licensure.
• Active RN license in PA and current certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS).
• Ability to scrub and circulate in the OR per needs.

Responsibilities

• Position, prep, and circulate patients during surgery.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for all ages in the OR.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

The OR RN provides nursing care and service during surgery cases. The OR RN will be responsible for positioning the patient, prepping the patient, and circulating the case. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all age patients in operating room. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members. May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room and/or Director of Nursing, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in PA
• BLS, ACLS, or PALS required upon hire and required within one year of hiring date.
• Ability to Scrub and Circulate as needed.
• One year experience required intra-operative setting.
• Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities. Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
