Job summary

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is seeking an OR Registered Nurse to support an Ambulatory Surgery Center in Spokane, WA. This full‑time role features 3 ten‑hour shifts with no nights, no on‑call, and closed weekends/major holidays.

Essential duties include direct nursing care per ASC standards, patient advocacy, and collaboration with multidisciplinary staff to ensure a safe perioperative experience. WA RN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing (or higher) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Valid WA Registered Nurses license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in conformance with ASC policies and procedures.
• Exert independent judgment in care of assigned patient and monitor for life threatening conditions.
• Utilize the nursing process to promote a positive perioperative experience.
• Recognize need for and perform appropriate emergency life-saving measures when applicable.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety at all times.
• Observe patients, document significant conditions, and notify supervisor or physician as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing/medical staff to structure patient care.
• Plan nursing interventions based on patient needs and procedures.
• Participate in ASC Disaster Plan and assist with staff direction.

Description

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is looking to bring on an OR Registered Nurse to support our growing Ambulatory Surgery Center.

NWOS is closed all weekends and major holidays. No nights or on call. This is a full-time position working 3,10-hour shifts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide direct nursing care in conformance with company policies and procedures and ASC standards while advocating/utilizing the nursing process and evidenced based practice.

• Exert independent judgment in care of assigned patient, maintaining awareness that errors in judgment may result in serious consequences.
• Accept responsibility for the welfare of assigned patients even in critical and life threatening conditions.
• Utilize the nursing process in providing care in order to promote a positive and uneventful perioperative experience.
• Recognize the need for and perform appropriate emergency life saving measures when applicable.
• Maintain a patient-centered mentality and the confidentiality of patient information at all times.
• Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of patient’s condition and relation to drugs, treatments and other significant incidents.
• Provides physical safety for the patient per department specific competencies and procedures.
• Monitor, evaluate, and adjust patient care according to patient responses.
• Participate in a collaborative effort with other nursing/medical staff to structure patient care.
• Plan nursing interventions based on individual patient needs, surgical procedures and standard plans of care.
• Maintain knowledge regarding own responsibilities in ASC Disaster Plan and assist with the direction of staff and patients to function according to the plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree in Nursing (or higher) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Valid WA Registered Nurses license

Wage: $36.50 to $58.40
