Job summary
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract to support surgical teams in a high-demand clinical setting.
This role requires prior OR nursing experience, an active nursing license in the United States, and current BLS certification. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 40 hours per week, with a 7:00 AM–5:30 PM shift and occasional on-call duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an Associate degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of two years of current hospital Operating Room experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care in the Operating Room.
- Support NIH surgical team during procedures.
- Adhere to OR protocols and safety standards.

We are seeking an experiencedOperating Room Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This 13-week contract offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule and is well suited for an RN with current hospital Operating Room experience.
- Location: National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- On-Call: Intermittent On-call (14-17 times a month) on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Pay: Starting at $38.95 Based on Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited university; or
- Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited university
- Minimum of two years of current hospital experience in the Operating Room
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Valid nursing license in at least one U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth
