Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality radiographic exams across a busy radiology service in Charleston. You will operate state-of-the-art imaging equipment, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with physicians to ensure accurate, timely images.

This full-time day shift (Sat-Mon, 7:00AM–7:30PM) includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $5,000 relocation; competitive incentives and call requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• 0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience.
• Must be registered with the ARRT or obtain registry within 6 months of hire.
• SC licensure in Radiation Quality Standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and protocols.
• Ensures diagnostic images are obtained accurately and efficiently for interpretation.
• Prepares and administers contrast agents under physician supervision.
• Verifies patient identification and orders prior to procedures.
• Positions patients and operates radiographic equipment safely.
• Maintains patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout examinations.
• Reviews images for quality and completes additional images as needed.
• Follows radiation safety practices and departmental standards.

As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist at MUSC, you have access to state-of-the-art imaging equipment to capture detailed X-ray images, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment planning for a wide range of medical conditions across 16 community hospitals including 3 level 1 trauma centers and many unique outpatient clinics across South Carolina. • Maintains patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout examinations.
• Reviews images for quality and completeness and obtains additional images when necessary.
• Follows radiation safety practices and applicable departmental and regulatory standards.
• Documents examinations and patient information accurately in the appropriate electronic systems.
• Maintains equipment and work areas in accordance with department standards and infection prevention protocols.

Required License Certification and Registration

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience

0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience.

Required Registration/Certification

• Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), If not registered must obtain the registry within 6 months of hire.
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
