Job summary

jacksonhospitalinternal is seeking a FT Surgical Tech (ORT) for 10-12 hour shifts from 6:30am to 5pm or 6:30pm to 7pm with call rotation in the Operating Room. The ORT operates under RN supervision, assists with case planning, preparation, setup, and management of supplies and equipment, and anticipates patient and physician needs while following institutional policies and legal guidelines.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential; high school graduate and surgical technician program

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program in a technical or Jr. College or Hospital based program.
• One year OR job experience as an ORT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, preparing and setting up for cases.
• Manage supplies and equipment for the operating room.
• Work under RN supervision and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Anticipate needs of the patient and physician within scope of practice.

The work that is performed is done under the established policies and procedures of the institution and according to the experience and scope of educational requirements of the individual and applicable legal guidelines.
