Job Summary

The OR Interventional Technologist performs various roles involved in interventional imaging procedures, in accordance with departmental policies, to ensure best possible patient care services.

Position Highlights

• $10,000 sign‑on bonus.
• Relocation stipend.
• Full‑time positions with various shifts available (3 12‑hour shifts per week).

• Shift differentials are available.
• The sign‑on bonus and relocation stipend are not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months.
• The sign‑on bonus and relocation stipend are only available for full‑time positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate and cost‑effective imaging.
• Applies broad range of skills to ensure exams are completed timely and meet quality and compliance standards.
• Provides appropriate interventional screening to patients, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.
• These responsibilities are a general overview; additional duties may be assigned.

Technical Capabilities

• Radiology (Novice): Demonstrates sufficient fundamental proficiency in moderate‑difficulty radiology services.
• Anatomy & Physiology Knowledge (Novice): Demonstrates sufficient fundamental proficiency in moderate‑difficulty anatomy and physiology.
• Patient Documentation (Novice): Demonstrates sufficient fundamental proficiency in moderate‑difficulty documentation, generally working under direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
• Compliance (Novice): Can explain and apply basic statutory instructions on the job, understands principles of rules and regulations, and appropriately escalates related problems in a timely manner.
