CT/X-Ray Technologist Full-Time Days, Lenexa City Center

Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — includes around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, and inpatient beds for medical-surgical and short-stay units. The new campus features:

  • 244,000 square feet
  • Capacity for 98 beds (44 upon opening, 54 for future expansion)
  • Four operating rooms (two upon opening, two for future)

The role you’ll contribute:

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs CAT Scan procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs various technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative to acquire images for radiological diagnosis. Maintains a clean and stocked room to perform CAT Scan procedures.

  • Maintains all essential job functions of the CT Technologist.
  • Rotates on-call status.
  • Reviews patient requisitions and charts before exams.
  • Administers contrast material as directed by Radiologist.
  • Starts IVs on outpatients requiring IV contrast.
  • Draws labs for Creatine to expedite care.
  • Communicates with nurses and physicians to facilitate patient care.
  • Locates orders, labs, allergies, and related resources in Power Chart.
  • Sends images to VRC and scans reports into PACS.
  • Provides oral contrast prior to exams as scheduled.
  • Participates in training new CT techs.
  • Operates Cerner System proficiently, troubleshoots, and corrects orders.
  • Completes and charges exams correctly; sends all exams to PACS and handles PACS issues.
  • Adheres to radiation safety standards.
  • Assumes responsibility for equipment and reports malfunctions.
  • Follows hospital policies and standards of behavior.
  • Incorporates patient, physician, and organizational needs into decision-making.
  • Follows the AIDET model for patient interactions.
  • Maintains ethical relationships and cooperates with personnel.
  • Engages in professional development and continuing education.
  • Maintains professional appearance as per dress code.
  • Attends at least 50% of scheduled department meetings.
  • Provides patient transportation when needed.
  • Performs other duties as required by Radiology leadership.

Qualifications:

The expertise and experiences needed:

  • Associate’s Degree or Technical School Graduate

Preferred experience:

  • 1 Year of relevant experience

Required licensure, certification, or registration:

  • Kansas State License LRT
  • Nationally Registered ARRT
  • ARRT Registered CT Technologist
  • AHA Healthcare Provider CPR
