Job description

Overview:

Livingston Surgery Center OR RN position.

Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing in for surgical cases. Previous OR experience preferred.

Schedule: Day shift, Monday-Friday, with shifts varying between 6:00am-2:30pm, 7:00am-3:30pm, and 7:30am-4:00pm for late shifts.

Employment details: Full-time, 1.0 FTE, benefits eligible, non-exempt.

Starting pay: $34.68/hr, commensurate with experience.

Job Summary:

Assists patients through their surgical experience, prioritizing safety and quality. Delegates and oversees patient care, practicing professional nursing aligned with the ANA Code of Ethics. Maintains Ohio Nursing License.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides family-centered nursing care.
  • Assesses patient needs and communicates care priorities to surgical team members.
  • Implements and evaluates care using evidence-based practices.
  • Uses therapeutic communication to monitor physical, psychological, and social needs.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities and unit community engagement.
  • Documents according to organizational standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BSN preferred; associate degree required with a commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years.
  • Licensure: Valid Ohio RN license.
  • Certifications: Current CPR required.
  • Experience: May serve as RN First Assistant after completing an accredited program.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional activities include climbing, driving, pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs, reaching above shoulder.
  • Frequent activities include bending, twisting, lifting 21-100 lbs, squatting.
  • Continuous activities include speaking, handling biohazard waste, working with chemicals, operating machinery, and computer use.

Able to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work in a demanding environment.
