Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT seeks an experienced RN Circulator to provide direct nursing care during operative procedures. You will support the surgical team, maintain sterility, monitor patient status, and ensure adherence to policies and safety standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration, communication with patients and physicians, and preparation of the operating room. A Connecticut RN license and BLS are required, with OR experience and aseptic technique knowledge highly

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
• Associate Nursing degree; BSN preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience; scrub helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of aseptic and sterile technique and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs for individualized care.
• Review charts for completeness per documentation protocols before and after surgery.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with equipment and implants.
• Communicate with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care.
• Prepare operating room for procedures and monitor patient status during surgery.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon as needed and ensure safety precautions.
