The position handles non-technical nursing assistance, room cleaning, and instrument availability to ensure smooth surgical flow. Weekend shifts are required, with a focus on patient safety and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; less than 1 year in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrates mature and conscientious behavior.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and technical skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 90 Days.

Responsibilities

• Participates in activities designed to increase the productivity and efficiency of the operating room.
• Promotes a positive patient surgical experience by partnering with the surgical team to provide excellence in customer service within the surgical environment with age-appropriate responsibilities.
• Assists with the transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
• Ensures availability of instruments and supplies needed and assists with opening of supplies and instruments.
• Provides emotional support during pre-operative contact with the patient, as observed by the unit and department nurses.
• Performs effective cleaning and disinfection of the operating rooms after surgical cases
