Responsible for cleaning of OR suites between cases. Stocks and maintains adequate PAR levels of surgical/anesthesia supplies.
RESPONSIBILITIES

1. GENERAL (COMPETENCIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Identifies patient when initial contact for transportation is made.
- Assists RN with surgical prep of patient, including hair removal.
- Assists with the transportation of patients between the patient room, OR suite and PACU.
- Performs room turnover and cleaning procedures according to established hospital and departmental procedures.
- Assists with removal/set-up of basic supplies and equipment. Participates in putting away supplies.
- Understands basic equipment/positioning devices used in the OR.
- Assists in operation of equipment as needed.
- Daily restocks Anesthesia carts.
- Checks/records all temps on fluid warmer, rooms, cryostat, medicine freezer, and Omnicel
- Cleans anesthesia blades and stylets and puts in Steris
- Heart surgeries: sets up Anesthesia lines, supplies & tray, obtains extra Lactated Ringer bags with blood tubing, stocks plasmalyte. Obtains ICU bed, transport monitor, O2 tankand ambu bag for end of case transport.
- Helps set up operating rooms for the next day
- Stocks fluid warmer and canisters on large cart.
- Transports specimens and log book to lab at end of day.
- Uses isolyser in dirty canisters and applies sticker (orange).
- Fills gases on anesthesia machine.

Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an operating room, surgical services department, or healthcare setting/.
- Knowledge of operating room equipment, supplies, and room turnover procedures.
- Experience with patient transportation and basic patient care assistance.
- Understanding of infection prevention practices and sterile environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and ancillary staff
