Salary: Dependent upon rank, Assistant Faculty, Instructor & Assistant Professor $110,000 - $135,000; Associate Professor $135,000 - $219,000*

Status: Full Time

The Wilmer Eye InstituteatJohns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking an optometrist to join the WilmerEye Institute's comprehensiveeye caredivision. This individual will work independently to provide primary ocular evaluations for patients atWilmer Eye Institute's outpatient clinic location in Bel Air, MD.

  • Comprehensive care providers perform vision and medical eye exams within the bounds of individual licensure andMaryland'slegal scope of practice.
  • Common encounters include diabetic eye examinations; evaluation of dry eye disease, cataracts, and glaucoma suspicion; Plaquenil screenings; and triage of urgent eye or vision concerns.
  • On-site referral/consultation forpatients requiring surgical or advancedsubspecialist careinglaucoma, retina, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and low vision rehabilitation.
  • Vision care services include prescription of glasses and soft contact lenses, with the opportunity to build a practice in specialty therapeutic contact lenses. An on-site optical is available witha team oflicensed opticians and high-quality materials.
