Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska is seeking a dedicated optometrist to provide ambulatory and inpatient eye care to the YK Delta population. The role includes managing general and specialty optometry, documenting exams, and adhering to privacy and quality standards.

This full-time position offers competitive benefits, generous PTO, and a $20,000 sign-on bonus with two- or three-year contracts. Alaska licensure and TMOD/NBEO certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate and hold a Diploma from an accredited school of Optometry.
• Alaska Optometry license required; TMOD certification or NBEO equivalent.
• Must be certified to use diagnostic and therapeutic agents.
• Proficient with accessing computerized medical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct ambulatory and inpatient optometric care (general or specialty).
• Record all patient examinations and procedures in health records per standards.
• Adhere to Privacy Act and maintain quality, safety, and infection control.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure timely patient care and on-call responsiveness.
• Supervise medical students, residents, and physician extenders when needed.
