Providence Saint John's Medical Foundation is seeking an Optometrist in Torrance, CA to assess, examine and manage visual health, diagnose eye conditions, and prescribe eyeglasses or contacts as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold a Doctor of Optometry, California licensure, a biology-related degree, and BLS certification. This is a full-time, day-shift role with comprehensive benefits and a patient-centered culture.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Doctor of Optometry program and OD degree from an accredited school.
• Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related health science field.
• California Optometrist License required upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

Description

The Optometrist assess and examines eyes and other parts of the visual system to diagnose and treat visual problems, manage diseases, injuries, and other disorders of the eyes. Additionally the optometrist may prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed.

Required qualifications:

• Completion of a Doctor of Optometry program, obtaining and O.D. degree from an accredited school or college of Optometry.
• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, physiology or other health science related field.
• California Optometrist License upon hire
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

• 2 years of working as an Optometrist.
